I´m happy to announce a new workshop in collaboration with Freeweaver Saori Studios called Rework it!
We are going to show you how to use a loom selecting the most beautiful natural fibers that Janine has in her studio. You will be weaving the textile that will be used to rework a garment. Unlike traditional textile techniques, which rely on repeating patterns, Saori Weaving is freestyle, personal to the weaver and so expressive that each cloth is unique, a work of art.
After you finish the piece we will analize the garment that you brought: should be any garment from your wardrobe that you don't use any more because it´s boring or has some holes or stains. The next and final step is reworking the garment you bring. The process of making it is hand sewing first and then we sew it with the machines.
Two skills combined to make something extremely unique. You will be able to weave and sew in a particular way where the final result will be a complete transformation of the garment you brought.
DURATION
2 days
2 hours each
You will leave this workshops with a garment to reuse for life and skills to transform any other garment you have.
MATERIALS
All materials included except the garment you bring to rework.
